Meet The Team

Amy Ells, Director of Operations

Amy came to our office after completing her degree in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing, from SUNY Fredonia. She has been a part of the Finger Lakes Dental Care team since 2008.

You may recognize Amy from her work at the Front Desk in our Canandaigua office. Now she travels between all of our offices to help support our growing team. When Amy isn’t in the office you can find her crafting, checking out a local brewery, or spending time with her family.

Jennifer Morello, Director of Finance

Jen has held many positions in the field of dentistry and brings all of that knowledge to her role at Finger Lakes Dental Care. Jen has worked for one the largest dental supply companies as a field sales consultant. She also worked as a sales representative for dental software. Then, in 1997, she graduated as a dental hygienist. Today, Jennifer stays busy as Director of Finance. In her spare time she loves to travel to new places, near and far. When at home, you can find her at CrossFit killing it in the group exercise classes. Growing up with 2 Italian Grandmas, she learned to cook and bake from the best and enjoys making old favorites as well as trying new recipes. Jen has lived in CDGA since 2009 and currently lives with her significant other, TJ, and two crazy and very active Weimaraner dogs, Bo and Max.

Jessica Schreader, Human Resources

New to the dental field, Jessica joined Finger Lakes Dental Care in August of 2020 as our Human Resource Manager. She has an associate’s degree in business administration from FLCC and has 16 years of human resource experience. She looks forward to helping our employees be the best they can be for our patients.

Jessica and her husband, Kevin, live in Clifton Springs with their three children, Liam, Ella and Adeline. She enjoys being with her family, especially Sunday dinners at her parent’s house on Seneca Lake. She also enjoys camping with family and friends, relaxing by the lake, cooking, eating, and attending concerts.

Megan Conley, Office Manager

Megan has been with Finger Lakes Dental Care since 2016. She has a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland in Health Science and received her Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the New York Chiropractic College. In addition to being the office manager, Megan oversees the day-to-day operations at the Canandaigua office front desk. She enjoys cooking, music, hiking, and spending time with her fiancé, Adam and doggie, Evie.

Laurie Rowe, Registered Dental Hygienist Lead

Laurie came to our office in 2014 after working in the dental hygiene field since 2009. She obtained two degrees from Monroe Community College; an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and an advanced associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She was then certified in anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration. She was also awarded the Johnson & Johnson Excellence in Healthcare Award. Outside of the office, Laurie enjoys spending time gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Kara Badger, Registered Dental Hygienist

Kara started with Finger Lakes Dental Care as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2017. Kara has been a dental hygienist since 1991. She and her husband, Tim, are both from Canandaigua. They have two sons, Merrick and Sully. Kara loves helping patients achieve their dental health goals. When not in the office she enjoys gardening, cooking and traveling in her vintage camper.

Selena Calder, Registered Dental Hygienist

Selena joined our hygiene team in January 2020. She graduated from Monroe Community College in 2016 as the youngest dental hygienist in New York State for that graduating class. She received her license to administer local and nitrous oxide anesthesia in fall 2016. Her gentle personality will automatically make you feel at ease during your dental cleaning!

Outside of work, you will most likely find Selena reading, doing yoga or spending time with her two golden retrievers.

Aleta Covey, Registered Dental Hygienist

Aleta joined our team in September 2019. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from The College at Brockport in 2015, then went on to Dental Hygiene School at Monroe Community College. Aleta began practicing dental hygiene in 2016 and is certified in Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide administration. She has enthusiasm for her profession that is unwavering. She is committed to her patients, gentle and kind. Outside of work Aleta enjoys baking, spending time with her family and her dog Ellie.

Renee Fitzpatrick, Registered Dental Hygienist

Renee joined our hygiene team in January of 2016. She has been a dental hygienist for 24 years, living in the Buffalo and Rochester area. Renee enjoys helping and educating patients with her expertise in dental health and loves being part of a great dental team here at Finger Lakes Dental Care. Outside of work she is very busy with her three children; Josh, Julia and Brady. If Renee were able to find some spare time, she would spend it playing golf and tennis, then relaxing on the boat with her husband, Paul.

Jennifer Gensheimer, Registered Dental Hygienist

Jennifer has found her way back home to Finger Lakes Dental Care! She worked as a sub hygienist for us in 2012. She left to pursue a full-time position and maintained that position until she returned to us in November 2019. Jennifer recently expanded her certifications in anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration.

Jennifer is happily married to Richard. They have two small children, Addison and Austin. The kids keep her pretty busy, but in her free time she enjoys reading. Her favorite author is Maya Angelou. One of her favorite quotes from her is, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

Mariah Chisom, Registered Dental Hygienist

Mariah started her career at Finger Lakes Dental Care in 2019 as a Certified Dental Assistant. In 2021, she graduated from the dental hygiene program at Monroe Community College and is now a NYS licensed Registered Dental Hygienist working in our Canandaigua office. When Mariah isn’t working, she is busy adventuring and hiking with her dog, Kaipo.

Shannon Cali, Registered Dental Assistant Lead

Shannon has been with Finger Lakes Dental Care since December of 2016. Shannon comes to us with over 10 years of experience in the dental field. She is certified in CPR and is a Registered Dental Assistant. She is also a member of the American Dental Assistant Association and American Association of Dental Office Managers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her rescued dog, Opie. She also enjoys music, gardening and the outdoors.

Beth Alongi, Registered Dental Assistant

Beth joined Finger Lakes Dental Care in February of 2020. She began working in all aspects of dentistry in 2013. She is a NYS Certified Dental Assistant, a member of the Dental Assisting National Board and is CPR certified.

Beth also holds another certification in NYS as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She has been practicing since 2004, and still works on some client’s when she’s not busy at the dental office! She received her associate’s degree in Science from Monroe Community College.

Beth is a big fan of all sports. She enjoys listening to music, cooking, nature, and spending time with family and friends. Beth and her husband, Dan, live in the country. They keep busy doing projects and updating their home and, most of all, they love spending time outdoors with their charcoal Labrador retrievers, Rowan and Angus.

Aubrey Angora, Dental Assistant

Aubrey started at Finger Lakes Dental Care in August of 2020 as a dental assistant. She comes to us with eight years customer service experience and two years of medical experience. She is CPR certified, and hopes to attend school in the future for assisting. Aubrey grew up in Canisteo, NY and graduated high school in 2013. She then attended Finger Lakes Community College to play soccer and graduated with her liberal arts degree. 

In her free-time Aubrey runs her own photography business. Shooting weddings and portrait sessions is her passion. She also loves to spend time at home with her husband and 4-year old German shepherd, Mookie, as well as time outdoors riding four wheelers and hanging out with family and close friends.

Jenn Blackenberg, Dental Assistant

Jenn joined the Finger Lakes Dental Care team in March of 2021. Jenn is brand new to the dental field and comes to us with a background in education. Jenn has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and has spent the last 10 years as a preschool teacher. She is CPR certified and hopes that her experiences with young children will be of assistance when working with younger patients. 

In her spare time, Jenn and her husband run a small woodworking business. She also enjoys being outdoors, playing piano, and anything to do with her two dogs, Luna and Lennon.

Savhanna Buchholz, Dental Assistant

Savhanna is new to the dental field, joining Finger Lakes Dental Care in March 2020. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a sociology major and a psychology minor. Savhanna is beyond excited to begin her career in the dental field. Her number one goal is to provide each and every patient with the highest quality dental experience. Savhanna is following in her mothers footsteps who has been a part of our team for 19 years.

In her spare time, Savhanna enjoys spending time with family and friends and going on walks with her Great Dane, Lulu.

Dayana Cruz-Echemenia, Registered Dental Assistant

Dayana has been working with Finger Lakes Dental Care since January 2021. She has been in the dental field for 14 years. Dayana graduated from the University of Medical Science of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba, receiving her Doctorate in Dentistry. She practiced as a general dentist in Cuba and Venezuela before moving to the USA. Soon after arriving, she got to work studying for the National Dental Boards so she can practice dentistry in America. She’s enthusiastic about her job and loves to make people smile.

Outside of work, Dayana enjoys spending time with her fiance, son, and her cats, Simba, Stella, and Rocco. She loves to cook, travel, and experience new things.

Carmella Haak, Registered Dental Assistant

Carmella, is a Registered Dental Assistant and recently joined Finger Lakes Dental Care. She has more than 30 years of experience in the dental field with extensive knowledge and experience with dental implants. Carmella has over 1,000+ hours of continuing education in implantology, oral surgery and sedation dentistry. She has her phlebotomy and DANB certification as well as ACLS/ BLS certifications. She truly enjoys caring for and making patients feel comfortable in the dental office. When Carmella is not working, she enjoys time with her family, especially her new grandson, Ben, and helping her husband with renovating their farmhouse. She enjoys the outdoors, gardening and watching movies.

Kalie Haight, Registered Dental Assistant

Kalie has been a certified and licensed Dental Assistant since 2011.

She grew up in Fredonia, NY and graduated high school in 2010. She was the only freshman that year to get into the MCC Dental Assisting Program. Her love for dentistry came from when she was young and fell off her bike and smashed her face. Kalie needed stitches above her eye and ended up with filling in all her front teeth and a root canal and crown… Needless to say, she spent a lot of time in the dental chair!

Kalie likes to volunteer. She has volunteered her time cooking at the Ronald McDonald house in the hospital for the families there, and has volunteered for Big Brother Big Sisters of America for many years. Kalie has raised money for cancer and even cuts her hair off every few years to donate.

Kalie loves to do a lot of outdoor stuff like hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, snowmobiling, camping and ice skating. She also loves riding on roller coasters! Kalie likes going to the theater and seeing different shows and musicals. She used to participate in them at school when she was a kid.

Kalie recently decided that she would like to climb all 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks by the time she’s 30. (She already has one under her belt!)

Teri Howard, Registered Dental Assistant

Teri brought her 30+ years of experience to Finger Lakes Dental Care when she joined the team in 2017. Teri has been trained in many aspects of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, and orthodontics. She continues to take many hours of continuing education and is CPR certified. 

When she isn’t working, Teri enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their blended family of seven children and grand babies! Teri and Jeff also enjoy working out, hiking, walking their two dogs, and spending time in their Florida home.

Marissa Mahoney, Dental Assistant

New to the dental field, Marissa joined the team in March of 2021 as a dental assistant. She was part of the first ever dental assisting school through Finger Lakes Dental Care. She comes to us with a background in restaurant management and 10 years of front-of-the-house restaurant experience as an assistant dining manager of an upscale independent senior living facility. 

Marissa and her husband share two fur babies named, Lexi and Luna. In their spare time, they like doing any outdoor activities, or just having a good time with family and friends. She is enjoying every aspect of her new dental career, and the teamwork that comes with working at Finger Lakes Dental Care. She is looking forward to learning everything she can and furthering her career as a dental assistant.

Kari Murawski, Registered Dental Assistant

Kari Murawski joined Finger Lakes Dental Care in 2017 and is our Clinical Director. She came to us with over ten years experience in the dental field. Kari started out her dental career as a sterilization tech while attending MCC where she quickly grew to cover all aspects in the clinical role as a dental assistant. Kari has her ACLS/BLS, DANB certificate and is a NYS licensed assistant. She also puts in countless hours as she continues her education. Kari loves to learn about oral surgery and all the latest dental technology.

Kari is passionate about her job and being able to provide excellent dental care to our patients. In her spare time, Kari enjoys going to her family cottage in Canada where she spends her time fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Kari has two Labrador retrievers; Chloe, a 13-year-old chocolate lab, and Rex, a 1-year-old silver lab.

Carlos Rivera, Registered Dental Assistant

Carlos comes to Finger Lakes Dental Care with 6 years of experience in the dental field. He currently has his certificate as a Dental Assistant and aspires to be a Hygienist or Dentist. Carlos loves helping others have a healthy smile and feel comfortable. His greatest satisfaction is to see his patients happy with their smiles.

Carlos lives in Geneva with his fiancé Jessy (who is also a Dental Assistant), her 3 children Zion, Zyaa and Dylan and 2 kittens Smokey and Garfunkel. In his free time, Carlos loves to watch basketball and sing. He also enjoys family movie night with his stepkids.

Kim Shapley, Registered Dental Assistant

Kim began dental assisting in 2011 and received her CDA a few years later in Michigan. After moving to NY, Kim joined the Finger Lakes Dental Care team in October, 2020. When Kim is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. Kim loves being outdoors especially in the warmer months, where she can relax by the water kayaking, fishing, hiking, 4 wheeling, walking her dog, Asia and she is always up for an adventure and making new memories!

Keila Sisson, Registered Dental Assistant

Keila Sisson is a Licensed Dental Assistant with our practice. She has been in the dental field since she was 16. Keila grew up in Ecuador and has been exposed to dental knowledge all of her life. Her mother is an Orthodontist and has had her own practice for many years. Keila spent many days helping her mother in the office. In 2007, she graduated from the University of Guayaquil, achieving her title as DDS. Keila practiced as a dentist alongside her mother for some years before moving to the United States with her husband, Aaron. Upon arriving, Keila immediately got to work and soon became a Licensed Dental Assistant in the state of New York. In addition, she is BLS and ACLS certified. She has a passion for all things dental, so she will never stop aspiring for great things.

When Keila is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her Boston Terrier, Baxter. They love the outdoors and like to take long walks, paddleboard and snowboard. She also takes time out of her weekends to volunteer in the community. Next time you are at the office, make sure you say hello!

Lia Shaw, Sterilization Technician

Lia comes to our office with 12 years of customer service experience in a variety of fields. Lia attended Keuka College for B.S. in ASL/English interpreting. Lia loves to help others and started at Finger Lakes Dental Care at the front desk as our greeting coordinator. In 2020, Lia transitioned into our sterilization technician where she is committed to teamwork and OSHA and CDC guidelines.

Outside of work, Lia enjoys painting, cooking, sewing, and carpentry with her boyfriend, Sam

Christine Singer, Lab Technician

Christine has over ten years of dental experience and has been working for Finger Lakes Dental Care since 2017. She currently manages the lab in our Canandaigua office.

She enjoys working with a large team and learning new and innovative ways of doing things in the office. If you have some anxiety about being at the dentist, she can help you feel more comfortable so we can work on your dental needs. When Christine isn’t working, she loves gardening, hiking, kayaking, crafting and remodeling her home! She also loves to travel and visit her family, which is spread out over four different states.

Lindsay Stevens, Dental Lab Technician Assistant

Lindsay graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2006 with a BS in Interior Design. She started working at Finger Lakes Dental Care in November 2020. She comes to us with six years of dental experience having been a dental assistant for a traditional practice, as well as a traveling dental program that visited schools. Lindsay’s favorite part of being a dental lab technician assistant is being part of the solution in fulfilling a patient’s needs whether that’s running cases to different offices, adjusting appliances until they’re perfect, or building something from scratch. 

Lindsay and her husband Seth, have a Boston Terrier Pug, Gustav (Gus for short). Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys going to pop culture conventions and has gone to New York Comic Con multiple times. She enjoys making costumes and props for cosplay using various materials from fabric to foam to pvc pipe and floor mats. She enjoys reading, painting, drawing, watching HGTV, and playing the piano.

Ann Hayes, Client Relations Lead

Ann came to our office with many years of service industry experience. She completed her Cosmetology degree, which she actively pursued for 16 years. Ann has the compassion and drives to help others. She can help get you scheduled in any of our locations and answer any questions you may have. Ann is a snack enthusiast who enjoys working out and reading when not in the office.

Rachel Burgess, Client Relations

Rachel is a 2015 graduate of Niagara University where she studied criminology and sociology. She assists with scheduling appointments and answering patients’ questions. She brings many years of experience in customer service to the table and enjoys helping people in any way she can. 

When she is not working, Rachel enjoys riding horses and leases at a farm in Fairport. She also enjoys hiking with her husband, Tom, and their golden retriever mix, Zarin. She and her husband welcomed their daughter, Lillian, in February 2021.

Kendall Main, Client Relations

Kendall graduated from University of Buffalo with a degree in communication. She joined the Finger Lakes Dental Care team in March of 2021 with over 10 years of customer service experience. She is committed to providing the best customer service possible and ensuring each patient is treated with compassion and respect. Kendall is looking forward to learning and growing with the FLDC team!

In her free time, Kendall enjoys spending time with family, especially her husband and her German Shepard mix dog, Luna. She also enjoys skiing, wine tours, camping, and trying new things.

Caitlin Sczucs, Client Relations

Caitlin has been in the customer service industry for over 10 years. She obtained her CNA in 2016 while working at a long-term care facility. Caitlin is now part of our call center team where her compassion for others shines through. 

When Caitlin is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her three boys, her boyfriend, Jake, and their two English bulldogs. She also enjoys reading psychology and self-help books.

Kylee Erwin, Client Relations

Kylee became a part of the Finger Lakes Dental Canandaigua team in July of 2021. Having no prior dental experience, Kylee joined the field straight out of high school at 17, being one of the youngest team members. She now works as a greetings coordinator at the front desk, but is aspiring to join the dental assisting team! During her free time, Kylee enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and attending events hosted by her church in Spencerport. She also enjoys listening to music and driving.

Patricia Loiacono, Treatment Coordinator

Tricia is a 2018 graduate of SUNY Oswego and earned her bachelor’s degree in Wellness Management. Tricia is very passionate about the maintenance of health and well-being, and is fascinated how oral health plays a key role in our overall health.

When Tricia is not at work, she spends her weekends waitressing at a local restaurant. She enjoys spending her free time traveling, cooking, and being with her friends and family.

Kaycie McHale, Treatment Coordinator

Kaycie has been in the dental field for 10 years and joined Finger Lakes Dental Care in 2018.  Kaycie attended MCC then pursued dental assisting at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES. She worked in orthodontics for seven years and then pursued being a treatment coordinator. 

Kaycie and her fiancé reside near Seneca lake with their son, Garhett, two dogs, and chickens. Her fiancé runs a fishing charter on Seneca Lake, so you can normally find them on the water! In her spare time she loves gardening, home remodel projects, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family.She loves working at Finger Lakes Dental Care because they are like a second family. Helping people is Kaycie’s passion and that is what Finger Lakes Dental Care’s core value is!

Nate Eveland, Insurance Coordinator Lead

Nate joined the Finger Lakes Dental Care team in 2019 with over 15 years of customer service experience. In 2020, he became one of our insurance coordinators. He has an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Finger Lakes Community College. Nate enjoys video games, movies, music, playing sports, watching sports and going on adventures with his family.

Chrissy Devey, Insurance Coordinator

Chrissy joined the Finger Lakes Dental Care team in June 2019 and is one of our insurance coordinators. She comes to us with 20 years of experience in various areas within the dental field, including Orthodontic lab tech, sterilization, and front desk. Chrissy has an AS degree in Liberal Arts and Science and a certification in basic removable appliance fabrication. Chrissy has lived in Canandaigua for five years with her two children, Breana and Evan. She also has two dogs and one cat that keeps her busy. She enjoys walking her dogs, gardening and attending summer festivals.

Erica Nabinger, Insurance Coordinator

Erica joined Finger Lakes Dental Care in September 2020. She is one of our Insurance Coordinators and helps out in our in-house lab. Erica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications from SUNY College at Old Westbury, including an internship with Walt Disney World. Erica comes to us with over 20 years of experience in Guest Relations including five years of management at a Salon and Spa. When not at work, Erica enjoys Latin Dancing and hanging out with her fur baby, Nori.

Sally Finocchario, Marketing Coordinator

Sally has a strong background in art and design. She earned her associate’s degree in Graphic Arts & Advertising Tech from Finger Lakes Community College, and worked as a graphic designer locally for over ten years. When Sally’s children (Samantha, Tricia and Nick) were 5 years, 2 years, and 8 months; she went back to school and pursued her dream to get certified in teaching art. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Nazareth College and later her master’s degree in Education from Walden University. Sally is a NYS certified k-12 art educator and taught for fifteen years as an art and design instructor at the high school level.

After raising her three children, Sally resigned from teaching and returned to the private sector as a creative. As a longtime happy patient of Finger Lakes Dental Care, she jumped at the opportunity to join the team as their Marketing Coordinator back in March 2019.

Outside of work Sally enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, reading and anything art related.
